Rev. A. Suresh Kumar born and brought up in a rural village near Trichy, Joined as a candidate for ministry in the diocese after his M.Sc., in Mathematics from St. Joseph’s College Trichy. The diocese sponsored him to study Theology in Serampore College. After his Theological studies (Where he stood first in the college) he was posted in a small parish and was given the additional responsibility of working as youth worker. His academic excellence prompted the Tamilnadu Theological Seminary to request the Bishop to depute the services of him to work for the seminary. He worked in TTS from 1986 to 1999. During this period he taught Old Testament subjects, Church admin and communication studies. He was sponsored by TTS and World Association for Christian Communication to study an M.A. in Mass Communication at the prestigious Leicester University (UK). After his post graduation he was pioneer in teaching M.Th., communication courses and served in the board of studies of Madurai Kamaraj University and Serampore University. He was instrumental in setting up communication departments in several theological colleges. He presented several papers in international communication and theological circles. He represented the theological community in several international bodies.
Bishop of Trichy requested him to return to the diocese in 1999 when the diocese needed him the most. He took up the responsibility of the Diocesan Treasurer – with a huge deficit and challenging issues. By the Grace of God and with the support of The Bishop and other church leaders, the diocesan finance property and other admin situation improved dramatically. Rev. Suresh continued as the treasurer until January 2008.
During his tenure as the treasurer, he used his contacts in Leicester and helped in starting an official link partnership programme with the Churches Together in Leicestershire in the year 2002. This developed well and in the year 2013, This link was developed in to a global link involving Wyoming diocese in USA, Kiteto diocese and Mt. Kilimanjaro diocese in Tanzania along with Leicester. Following an invitation by the Bishop of Leicester, Suresh was deputed by the diocese to work as link officer and a priest in UK . Realizing the potential for his work among the young people, Apart from his work in the parish He was also invited to work as a student chaplain in the prestigious University of Leicester UK.
After 6 years and 4 months of good work in UK, completing the period of deputation he joined the diocese back in June 2016 to take up the responsibility of Bishop’s secretary and link officer of the diocese. He was given the Pastorate of St. Paul’s, Woriyur, Trichy to deliver his pastoral duties as its PC Chairperson.

His wife Mercy is a Post graduate Botany Teacher in Government Boy’s higher secondary School, Lalgudi. She is also the Vice President of the Diocesan Women’s fellowship movement.
Vivian, Suresh’s son is a Ph.D research student in Electronic studies and Sharon, his daughter is a final year engineering student – both at DeMontford University, UK.
